How much does it cost to build a mobile or web application?
Based off a brief conversation, its impossible to tell you how much it would cost to build your app.
It takes a fair bit of work to give someone a fixed price cost. Building a web and/or mobile app is not cheap. However, with the approach we take is to provide an estimate range for time and cost based on the initial conversation.
This process takes no more than 2 days. If the estimate range we provide is within your budget, then we move to the formal statement of work phase where we boil everything down to a fixed time and cost for you.
How long does a mobile app or web application take to be developed?
If you are looking to get to market quickly, it can usually take 3-6 months, depending on the scope of the project.
Should I develop in iOS or Android?
With half the worlds population now using smart phones, the mobile app market has never been more exciting or lucrative, with Android and iOS dominating the smartphone operating systems.
You will have to decide exactly which type of smartphone user you want to target first if you don’t want to build both at the same time.
As they are two very different mobile platforms that require two very different types of language (Android apps are predominantly done in Java, while iOS ones are mostly done in Objective C or Swift) and native UI / UX design.
For total market penetration you eventually want to develop for both iOS and Android.
What is the process for building an app?
Step 1: Initial conversation to get the high level view of what the App is and what you want it to do.
Step 2: We provide an informal level of effort with a range of time + cost.
Step 3: If that range is acceptable, then our team works to create a formal statement of work with the finer points defined and a fixed time + cost included.
Step 4: Kick off meeting to establish the communication plan and meet the team working on the project. All projects have a Project manager and Architect/Developer.
Step 5: Create and Set up Hosting environments, App store accounts and Project management software to maintain transparency.
Step 6: Discuss every week what has been completed, what is being currently work on and what is next to work on.
Step 7: Determine a release schedule for testing
Step 8: Launch
Step 9: This is what we call “fit and finish” which includes any clean up or user feedback from the end user or client. This period is about 2 weeks.
